SPECTACULAR 'SPITS' ON THE COASTS
A spit is a coastal landform a stretch of beach
material that projects out to the sea. 'SPITS' are sandy embankments that start off from the shoreline and grow out into the sea. Most often they get re curved in to a 'HOOK' by continuous wave action. Some spectacular SPITS are presented below.1. The Spurn point( a narrow sand tidal island) that extends for 3 1/2 miles across the Humber Estuary( a large tidal estuary on the east coast of Northern England)
